Learning Paths
Structured routes through Solana topics — from first concepts to validator mechanics — designed for self-study and session preparation.
Choose your starting point
Not sure where to begin? These learning paths suggest a sequence of articles and sessions based on what you want to understand. Each path can be followed independently or used to prepare for a guided session.
Foundations Path
Start here if you have never used a blockchain before. Covers what a distributed ledger is, how Solana differs from earlier networks, and the basic vocabulary you will need for everything else. Estimated self-study time: 3–4 hours across four articles. Recommended session: Network Orientation Session.
Wallet & Security Path
For readers ready to interact with the network. Walks through wallet types, key generation, backup strategies, and recognising common threats. Read Choosing a Solana Wallet first, then book a Wallet Security Briefing to verify your understanding.
Network Deep Dive Path
For those who want to understand what happens under the hood. Covers proof of history, transaction lifecycle, program execution, and reading an explorer. Begin with Understanding Proof of History and Reading the Solana Explorer.
Staking & Validators Path
Builds on the foundations path. Explains validator roles, delegation, epochs, and how to research validators independently. Concludes with our Validator & Staking Overview session for questions and clarification.
How paths connect to sessions
Each path is designed to work on its own, but many readers find that self-study followed by a guided session solidifies their understanding. When you book a session, tell us which path you have been following and we will tailor the walkthrough accordingly.
